This helps you examine the overlap between the things you are passionate about & what you could give the world.
From this, an area of opportunity becomes clear for a career path or opportunity that could be your calling.
Why This Was Created:
If you can’t think of a business to start, or a dream-career to pursue, one useful activity can be to look at the overlap between what you love doing, and what you could be charging people for. This is the sweet spot where you will be passionate about what you are doing each day, and being rewarded comfortably for it. You may choose to build a business, and if so, the journey will be hard. But competing with others will be much easier when you love what you do, and choosing something you are passionate about will help make working those late hours and taking those big risks much easier to deal with.
How It Works:
This tool helps you list all of the things you like doing, before listing all of the potential things you could be charging people for. The overlap of these things is a good starting point for a dream business or job that would bring you happiness and financial success at the same time. This tool then helps you analyse what resources you have that can help you on your journey, such as assets you have, people you know or things you are capable of learning. This can help make sure that you are being resourceful and using all of the resources that are available to you. This can help you create a strategy for success, get the ball rolling and build up momentum for your business or career journey.
How I Use This:
I started the Desk Clarity online education platform after completing an analysis of what I love doing, and what I could charge people for. Doing this exercise helped me realise that I love teaching, and training in Excel is something that people would definitely pay me for. This overlap was something I knew I would be passionate about, and gave me confidence to take the risk and start the business.
