DeskStudy

  • Helps you reach your study goals by keeping you accountable to the commitments you have set for yourself.

  • Motivates you with visual representation of the work you have put in already.

Why this was made:

Studying can be incredibly hard, and the idea of studying stresses a lot of people out. It doesn’t have to be this way, however, as studying can be incredibly rewarding when it is done right. When you are easily able to set daily study goals for yourself, and see your success build up as you go through the week, studying can be very enjoyable, help you ge the results you are after and even help you build discipline and confidence.

How it works:

This tool allows you to strategically evaluate how many hours of study you will need for each of your subjects. It then helps you track your study, by subject, so that you ready to achieve success across the board. This tool then provides you with motivation to keep going by showing you the successes that you have had so far, and the total amount of study you have already accomplished each week. Seeing your successes in front of you will amplify your passion to study harder, and your results will improve in line with your additional study hours.

My Example:

My belief is that the result you get is directly proportional to the amount of hours you study for a subject. If you want to go from a B- to a B+, for example, that’s an extra hour of study a week that you will need to do. I know this from experience, because in high school I set the goal for myself of getting the highest grade of everyone in my year. Each night I tracked how many hours I studied, and compared it to the daily goals I had set for myself at the start of the week. Even when I didn’t want to, I would find a way to tick-off the allocated hours I had set for myself, and seeing my efforts in a visual format in front of me gave me great pride in my achievements and incredible motivation to keep going. I was able to achieve my goal, and I used this same trick at university to graduate with the highest GPA of anyone in my finance major.
