DeskVision
Having a strong vision can change your conscious and subconscious beliefs, actions and thoughts for the better.
This tool helps you discover what your vision is & motivates you to achieve it.
Why This Was Created:
Getting clear on what you want out of life can help you craft a vision of who you want to be and where you want to end up, so that you are pulled towards this like a magnet. Just like in Alice in Wonderland, if you don’t know where your headed, it doesn’t matter much which direction you go. By getting clear on what truly inspires you, you can use this vision and clarity of purpose to make better decisions towards your goals.
How It Works:
Deciding where you want to end up can be one of the hardest parts of forming a strategy. This tool helps you analyse the things you have loved most in your life so far, and the things you love doing with your time currently. Features that these moments have in common may be a sign of something that deeply inspires you and that you are passionate about. This tool also helps you examine who your mentors are, and who you look up to, to dissect what you really respect about them. This can help you pinpoint what you would really respect in yourself. Becoming aware of your deepest motivations can be an incredible starting point for coming up with your plan to achieve your goals in life.
How I Use It:
Pinpointing exactly what I want out of life helped me build up my vision piece by piece. This vision helps me make decisions in challenging moments to turn my visions into a reality. Spending time visualising where I want to be and what I want to have prepares me for these moments, so that I always choose the option aligned with my values. My vision also motivates me to keep putting in work on my goals, even when the results are unclear and not immediate.
Quotes:
“Without desired outcomes in mind, you don’t know where you’re headed. And if you don’t know where your headed, chances are your already there” - Jay Rifenbary
“Strategy is all about making choices in an environment of uncertainty to achieve some definable future goal… If there is no definable future goal, then there is no purpose for making a choice” - Andrew Rosengren
